Die Welt ist ein seltsamer Ort. Christoph Schieder nähert sich ihr auf seine ganz eigene Weise. Auf den ersten Blick düster und dystopisch, entfalten seine Bilder eine eigenartige Poesie des Zwischenstadiums. Die Orte seiner Fotos harren stumm zwischen Abriss und Neubau, Ernte und Aussaat, Verlassenheit und Wiederbelebung. So versteht Schieder seine Bilder auch als Betrachtung der sich widersprechenden Gefühle, dass sich etwas ändern muss und alles bleiben soll, wie es ist.
Jetzt stellt Schieder seine Arbeit „periphic“ erstmals auch als Buch vor.

Christoph Schieder, *1968 in Köln, absolvierte eine klassische Fotografenlehre in Berlin. Nachdem er über 12 Jahre in Hamburg als Fotograf und Art Direktor in der Werbung tätig war, lebt und arbeitet Schieder seit 2004 wieder in Berlin. Schieder ist einer der letzten Schüler von Prof. Arno Fischer. Neben Landschafts- und urbaner Fotografie setzt er sich in seiner künstlerischen Arbeit auch intensiv mit dem Thema Familie auseinander.

This world is a strange place. Christoph Schieder approaches it in his very own way. Sombre and dystopian at first glance, his images unfold a strange
poetry of the in-between. The places in his photographs wait silently between demolition and new construction, harvest and sowing, abandonment and revival. In this way, Schieder also understands his pictures as a contemplation of the contradictory feelings that something must change and everything should remain as it is.
Now Schieder is presenting his work "periphic" for the first time in book form.

Christoph Schieder, *1968 in Cologne, completed a classical photography apprenticeship in Berlin. After working as a photographer and art director in advertising in Hamburg for over 12 years, Schieder has been living and working in Berlin again since 2004. Schieder is one of the last students of Prof. Arno Fischer. In addition to landscape and urban photography, he also deals intensively with the subject of family in his artistic work.
